As a health psychologist, Dr. Ahmed's approach to treatment is focused on examining how biological, social, and psychological factors influence health and illness. Primary goals of treatment include changing behaviors to improve general health and well-being and implementing evidenced-based, psychological treatment to recover from an illness or cope with a chronic condition. The path to wellness is complex and should be individualized to one's needs. Together you will work with Dr. Ahmed to identify specific goals for treatment, address barriers to implementing treatment, and monitor progress. Dr. Ahmed primarily utilizes the following treatment modalities: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), and supportive therapy. Dr. Ahmed is also an expert of behavioral treatment of sleep disorders.
Dr. Ahmed grew up in Chicago, IL. She obtained her Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) degree at Roosevelt University. Dr. Ahmed completed a health psychology internship at the Miami VA Medical Center in Miami, Florida and post-doctoral fellowship with a specialty focus in behavioral sleep medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Ahmed currently resides and services the Cleveland and Akron metropolitan areas.

I accept fee for service payment only. Payment is required at the time of visit. I am out of network and not part of HMO or insurance company panels. Acceptable payment methods include credit card, HSA, and FSA.
